What does -어 있다 (eo itda) mean in Korean?
How to Use
Used to describe the state that remains after an action is finished.
Rule: Choose -아 있다 after a stem with ㅏ or ㅗ (앉아 있다), -어 있다 elsewhere (열려 있다). Use it with verbs that have no object — say 앉아 있어요, but 책을 읽고 있어요 for an ongoing action.

꽃이 피어 있어요.
The flowers are in bloom.

The door is open.
자리에 앉아 있어요.
