Making a Guess

What does -을걸 (eulgeol) mean in Korean?

How to Use

Used for a casual guess, or to express regret about something you didn't do.

Rule: This is casual speech; the polite form is -을걸요. After a consonant use -을걸 (먹을걸), after a vowel or ㄹ drop the 을 (갈걸). For regret it usually appears as -을걸 그랬어, meaning 'I should have ~'.
