Used to make statements in formal settings such as introductions, presentations, or work.

Rule: After a stem ending in a consonant, use -습니다 (먹습니다). After a stem ending in a vowel, use -ㅂ니다 (갑니다). Stems ending in ㄹ drop the ㄹ (살다 → 삽니다).
