How to use 타요 (tayo) in Korean — "I'm taking the ~"

How to Use

Used to say which transport you're taking, or to tell someone which one to take.

Rule: Korean says 버스를 타요, not 버스에 타요 — 타다 takes 을/를 even though English says 'get on'. In speech the particle is usually dropped (버스 타요). To get off, use 내려요.

Examples

2호선 타요!

Take Line 2!

버스 타요.

Take the bus.

택시 타요.

Take a taxi.
