I rolled my suitcase up to the desk. "I'm checking in for the flight to Rome," I said. The agent asked for my passport.
Signs pointed in three directions at once. "Where do I drop off my checked bag?" I asked. She waved me toward the far counter.
Boarding wasn't for another forty minutes. "Do I have time to grab a coffee?" I asked the agent. She smiled and said plenty.
The gate screen still showed no number. "What time does boarding start?" I asked. She said in about twenty minutes.
The boarding pass and the sign didn't match. "I think I'm at the wrong gate," I told the agent. He pointed me one terminal over.
