Across Town

택시·길 묻기

I leaned toward the driver as we pulled away. "I need to get to the airport by six," I said. He nodded and took the faster road.
I watched the meter and the map together. "Is it far to the old town from here?" I asked. He said ten minutes without traffic.
I stepped out and the streets all looked the same. "Excuse me, which way is the station?" I asked. A local pointed past the bakery.
We reached the curb and I opened my wallet. "Do you take cards, or just cash?" I asked. He tapped a small reader on the dash.
The fare came to just under twenty. "Here's twenty keep the change," I said. He thanked me and wished me a good trip.
