Family Ties

가족

My daughter laughed exactly like her grandfather. "She really takes after my dad," I said. Everyone at the table agreed at once.
I wiped down the table and lit a candle. "We're having my parents over for dinner," I said. He started peeling potatoes without being asked.
An old song drifted from the kitchen radio. "That tune reminds me of my mom," I said softly. We stayed quiet and just listened.
The photos on the wall sparked old memories. "I grew up in a small town up north," I said. She wanted to hear every story.
Three of us share the same stubborn streak. "Yeah, it runs in the family," I laughed. My uncle nodded like it was a badge of honor.
