In the Kitchen

요리

The smell from her pot was incredible. "What goes into this sauce?" I asked. She listed garlic, butter, and a secret pinch of something.
My hands were covered in flour and dough. "Could you pass me the salt?" I asked. He set it right by my elbow.
I dipped a spoon in and tasted carefully. "Hmm, it needs a bit more salt," I said. One pinch later, it was just right.
I lowered the heat and stepped back. "Just let it simmer for ten minutes," I said. The kitchen filled with a rich, slow smell.
I set the last dish down with a flourish. "Okay, it's ready — dig in!" I said. Everyone reached for a plate at once.
