I was almost ready to say yes. "Could you throw in free setup?" I asked. He agreed, and we shook on it.
The quote was higher than I'd hoped. "Honestly, that's a bit steep for me," I said. He came down a little after that.
We were just a few dollars apart at the end. "Let's call it fifty even," I suggested. He grinned and said deal.
We had finally landed on fair terms. "Great — then we have a deal," I said. We shook hands and both felt good.
