I wanted to lock in a day before it filled up. "Are you free on Saturday afternoon?" I texted. She replied with a quick thumbs up.
The weekend was wide open for once. "What are you doing this weekend?" I asked. She said nothing yet, which was perfect.
We always said we would but never did. "Let's actually make plans for next month," I said. We picked a date right then and there.
I checked my calendar twice to be sure. "I'm free anytime after five," I said. We settled on a cozy early dinner.
I wasn't a hundred percent sure yet. "Pencil me in for Friday for now," I said. I promised to confirm by Thursday.
