I paused mid-sentence as a thought hit me. "You know what? Let's just go for it," I said. Sometimes the best plans start that way.
Her question jogged something loose in my memory. "Come to think of it, I left it at the office," I said. The mystery solved itself instantly.
We were wrapping up when I remembered something. "By the way, are we still on for Friday?" I asked. She'd almost forgotten too.
He finally suggested the idea I'd been hoping for. "Now you're talking!" I said with a grin. We jumped on it right away.
He paused, asking with his eyes if it was okay. "Go ahead, I'm listening," I said warmly. He relaxed and finished his thought.
