I waved away the second cup of coffee. "I'm cutting back on caffeine lately," I said. She admitted she probably should too.
The morning jog had cleared my head completely. "I always feel better after a run," I said. She laughed and said she'd try it.
She pushed through a workout despite the pain. "Hey, listen to your body," I told her. She eased off and stretched instead.
The afternoon was bright and far too nice to waste. "Let's go for a quick run," I suggested. We were out the door in minutes.
My legs were burning by the last set. "Come on — no pain, no gain," I puffed. We finished it and felt unstoppable.
